What is a Headshot?
An actor’s headshot is a 8×10 sized portrait or a mug shot. It includes a person’s head and sometimes shoulders and its main focus is on the face.
A headshot is used by an actor or entertainer to apply for casting or audition and is usually given to a casting director, who then makes a decision whether the person is right for the role or character.
The best headshots shows a person as they really are, i.e. their look, style. So, if you’ve cut or coloured your hair, then you will need another set of professional headshots. The headshot should also reflect your best qualities. A professional head shot photographer will capture the characters you will most likely be cast as and therefore increase your chances of getting booked for the job.
